FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke has refused to stand down from his post and insists that he is not guilty of any corrupt practices.
Valcke admits he is not involved in any wrongdoing after FIFA admitted to paying $10million to an account belonging to disgraced former vice-president Jack Warner pertaining to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The transaction followed a letter from the South African FA to Valcke asking for the payment to be withheld from World Cup funds and paid instead to Warner to support football in the Caribbean.
The said transaction is under investigation by the US authorities but Valcke has denied any wrongdoing.
"I have no reason to say that I shouldn't remain secretary general regarding what's happened in the last days, because I have no responsibility," he told France Info radio.
"I'm beyond reproach and I certainly don't feel guilty. So I don't even have to justify that I'm innocent."
