Deco says he chose to remain with Chelsea this season because of the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti.

A reunion with former Porto boss Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan was on the cards, but Chelsea asked for too much money and Inter ended up signing Wesley Sneijder instead.

"I spoke with Ancelotti at the start of the season and he told me that he would like it if I stayed," Deco told The Sun.

"For me, having that conversation was very important because it's fundamental to have a manager's trust. Now I am happy to be playing," he concluded.
