Manchester United have suddenly jumped to the head of the queue to land Benfica whizkid Umaro Embalo.

United have been pursuing a deal for the 16 year-old striker since the end of last season, but they appeared to have lost the race as RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich both edged ahead in the battle over the New Year.

Indeed, it was claimed RBL already had a deal for the teen.

But Correio da Manha says United have found a breakthrough with Benfica and are now in advanced talks to sign Embalo.

United will pay €20m to sign the teen this summer.
