Daniel de Ridder has pleaded for a chance at Wigan Athletic.

"Like Antonio (Valencia), I will take people on, and I've told the gaffer many times that I'm comfortable on the left as well as the right," said the 24-year-old.

"I got a few more minutes against City than in the last few weeks so I had more time and space to show myself.

"I came in against Man United for the last 10 minutes on the left and I think I've shown now I can play that role."
