Former Ajax and Barcelona star Ronald de Boer has taken a swipe at the style of football Manchester United are playing under Louis van Gaal.
United moved up to third in the Premier League with a victory over Southampton on Monday night - the Red Devils fifth successive win.
But De Boer says United fans can also look forward to more attractive football in the near future.
He told talkSPORT: "Louis van Gaal started very poorly.
"He has got the team playing a bit better so they don't give so many chances away, but still I don't think you've seen a Louis van Gaal team because, for me, Louis stands for attractive and attacking football.
"He just needs to keep his team together and grind out some points because it is not the football Louis stands for.
"I know for sure it will come. He talks about his approach as always and I believe that because he did it with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Ajax. He will get there.
"Hopefully Manchester United will give him time because at the moment the football is not worth watching."
