DC United defender Dejan Jakovic says he is happy to be back from a month of international duty with the Canadian national team.
The 24-year old has been with on duty at the CONCACAF Gold Cup and impressed with his performances in central defence but is now ready to get back into MLS action.
"It's been a lot. I talked to the coaches, saw everyone [on Monday]. It's nice to be back. Saturday I should be ready to go," he said in an interview with the Washington Post.
Jakovic said his experience with the Canucks will hold him in good stead for the future.
"I definitely think I did well. After the tournament, everyone with the national team told me I had some very good performances and that they look forward to seeing me again. The three games I played definitely helped me for the future," he added.
