Davide Calabria is convinced AC Milan can improve on last season.

Milan were first in the table into the New Year and were dreaming of the Scudetto until late in the season, as the progress made under coach Stefano Pioli continued.

“Last year we finished second and no one thought we could achieve that result, because the favourites for the title were the teams that arrived in the top four the previous year," Calabria told Il Corriere dello Sport.

The 24-year-old played 32 games last season.

“If nobody believes in us now, even better. The target is to continue to improve. The team must continue a process of growth and this year a new step awaits us as we will play in the Champions League and have other top-level games."
