Scott Dann insists Birmingham City's Carling Cup triumph is not to blame for their relegation battle.
Some believe the Carling Cup was a curse for Brum and maybe they got a bit carried away with themselves for a while.
Dann disagrees with that view, although he admits they may have taken their eye off the ball.
He told The Sun: "It was a fantastic day and great to win. It is part of Birmingham history and I was determined to go up and get my medal, even though I was injured for the final, because I felt I'd earned it.
"It would be unfair to say we got cocky, though. None of the lads are that type of person.
"But maybe it did take people's eyes off the league for a bit and that's something you can't afford to do, even for a short time.
"If we'd had one more win, we'd be safe going into this weekend, that's how tight it is.
"But we haven't and it's no use looking back at what might have been. This is where we are.
"It's all about Sunday. We know what we have to do."
