A young Liverpool XI drew 2-2 with Sven Goran Eriksson's Notts County on Friday.

Dani Pacheco and Andras Simon were Liverpool's goal scorers, with summer recruit Chris Mavinga and Spaniard Daniel Ayala also impressive.

"It was a really good test for us against a good team," coach John McMahon told Liverpoolfc.tv. "They were physically stronger than us but we competed and did well.

"It was a good experience for the young lads and we can take a lot from this game."
