Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish believes Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam can be the main man for Gordon Strachan's Scotland.
Dalglish, who shelled out about £9m to sign Adam from Blackpool when he was Liverpool manager, has been well-impressed by the 28-year-old's recent form.
Dalglish told the Sunday Mail: "It should be helpful to Gordon and Scotland if the Scottish boys are playing well. And certainly in the last few weeks, even against Liverpool a few weeks further back, Charlie has been.
"He scored a great goal, he rattled one in against Man United and got one chalked off by the dubious goals panel. He has also been involved in making a couple of goals. It is good to see Charlie back playing well.
"Is he an enigma? Yes, but if somebody has got abilities and a contribution to make you try your best to fit them in."
