Daichi Kamada is hoping for success with Lazio.

The Japan midfielder arrived earlier this summer from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kamada told Lazio Style: "As I've said many times, I really wanted to play for a team that fights in the Champions League.

"The president and the coach enthusiastically wanted me to play for Lazio. I myself believe I can grow here and become a good player. This is why I decided to come. I think I can play better as number 8, as an internal midfielder, as you say. I have played many games in Germany, in the Bundesliga. Now my career begins in Italy.

"Serie A is very popular in Japan. Some famous Japanese players have played here in Italy in the past. In recent years there hasn't been any Japanese footballers, now it will only be me. By playing well, I would like to demonstrate beauty of Serie A and Lazio to the Japanese fans."
