Tottenham are battling to land Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Alen Halilovic.
Spurs were close to a £10m deal for Halilovic over the summer but Sky Italia says the north London club initiated new talks over the 17-year-old.
Tottenham are willing to offer 20m (£17m) for the youngster, a fee which exceeds the player's 15m (£13m) release clause.
Dinamo are keen to sell, with the player's contract at the club due to expire in the summer, but Halilovic's father, Sejad, is currently blocking the move.
Halilovic snr., a coach at Dinamo, wants guarantees from Tottenham about his son's playing time before sanctioning the move.
