Gold Coast United has confirmed the signing of marquee player Jason Culina. In a major coup for both the club and the A-League, the Socceroo star has agreed to a three-year deal and looking forward to the challenge of playing in his homeland.
"The offer came at a great time as I was heading towards the end of my contract at PSV and I have come to a point in my career where I have achieved my goals in Europe," the PSV Eindhoven midfielder said.
"I've won three Championships with PSV, played in a World Cup, played 26 games in the UEFA Champions League and also played in the UEFA Cup, so I felt it was time to look at something else."
28-year old Culina has played in Australia's national colours 36 times and will be a drawcard for Gold Coast's inaugural season.
