Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend shrugged off the hometown jeers after victory at Newcastle United.
Townsend was booed by a vocal minority of Newcastle fans, who have clearly never forgiven the 27-year-old for departing following relegation in 2016.
"It was pantomime stuff, I didn't mind that," Townsend told the Evening Chronicle when asked how he felt about being booed by Newcastle fans.
"They know I did a good job when I was here so really it doesn't matter. I'll always be grateful to them for the support they gave me.
"Anyway, that shows I must have done a good job when I was here. It's a fantastic club with fantastic supporters. [They have] great players, a great pitch, a great stadium, and it's always nice to come back.
"We still want to finish this one as well as possible, backing up [these] victories. Next season's all about working harder to back up victories like this."
