Crystal Palace’s Carle still pondering China move
Crystal Palace midfielder Nick Carle is still pondering a move to Chinese Super League club Shaanxi Chanba.
The Australian international is struggling for regular game time with the Championship club and has been offered a loan deal by Shaanxi until the end of the year but will make sure he researches all the ins and outs of the Chinese club which will include talking to former Adelaide United midfielder Jonas Salley, who has been at the club since March last year.
“An offer has been accepted by Palace and I’m just waiting on a ticket to head out there and have a look,” Carle told The World Game.
“I’ll also be talking with Jonas, who is still there and did well there last season. He’ll be able to give me a few insights on what to expect.
“It’s obvious I need to be playing first team football to have a chance of being picked for the World Cup and the standard of Asian football is on the rise. I need to get myself sorted and playing asap.”
Carle says the chance of him joining Shaanxi is strong but he just wants to make sure he is taking the right path by doing enough research.
“Things are a little up in the air at the moment but it looks like I’ll be heading there. I’ve done some homework on the club but you really have to be there in person to make a proper judgment,” he added.

I can't belive Palace are letting Nick Carle go. He is one of, if not the best player tehnically we have here & is just who we need in the team to take us up!! I know Warnock likes the long ball & bypasses the midfield but for christs sake Nick Carle could easily cut it in the premiership!! I just hope he doesnt go & that Warnock brings him back in. What a waste of a gifted player(& we havent got too many of them i can tell you)
