Crystal Palace midfielder Nick Carle has reportedly signed a three-year deal with reigning A-League champions Sydney FC. There have been murmurings for the past few weeks that the 28-year old would sign with the Sky Blues and it is now believed he has penned a deal worth close to $2million.

Carle, who was yesterday dropped from Australia's World Cup squad, is said to have agreed to a $650,000 a year for the next three years making him Sydney's marquee man.

Despite having two years to run on his Palace deal, Carle was able to leave as the Londoners are facing financial difficulties and were happy to rid themselves of his wages.
