Crystal Palace midfielder McArthur: Zaha reaction just human

Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur has hailed the quality of Wilfried Zaha.

Palace go to Watford at lunchtime today aiming to make the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the second time in three seasons.

And McArthur insisted: “Wilf is maturing as a player.

“He's had it a lot of his career where he's been kicked, and he knows how to deal with it now, getting up and getting on with it, and producing magic moments.

“He was frustrated with his reaction at Southampton. It's not right and he knows that, but if someone was to keep kicking you, you'd get frustrated at times.

“We're all human. But for one mistake that Wilf made, he's produced many magic moments.

“You obviously speak to the referee and try and make sure he's being protected but, with Wilf, he just needs to keep being him. He's an amazing player. They obviously see him as the danger man. We can speak to the ref, but Wilf will do what he does, and he can keep them quiet by keep scoring.

“He's very professional. He knows that he has the ability to hurt anyone and, if he keeps doing that, he'll keep progressing."
