Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye has apologised for his tackle on Newcastle United DeAndre Yedlin.
Cabaye charged in late on the American full-back at St James' Park, picking up a yellow card. It could have easily been a red on another day.
“It happens. He was apologetic afterwards but he's a good guy and it wasn't intentional," Yedlin told the Evening Chronicle.
“He wasn't trying to hurt me. Any player knows that this is a physical league and you have to be ready to take some hits.
“You take hits that you wouldn't in other leagues. We're prepared and ready for it.
"All was good, we got three points and now we are looking forward to next week.
“It was a big result for us, especially against a team like Crystal Palace.
“It's obviously good to get a clean sheet and good to show character to fight until the end and get a good goal."
