Crystal Palace are hoping they can lure Darren Bent from Aston Villa.
The promoted Eagles are determined to bring a known goalscorer to Selhurst Park this summer and want to sign Bent on a season-long loan.
Reports suggest that Palace will offer to pay £40,000-a-week of Bent's wages as well as a bonus if the South Londoners stay in the Premier League next season, which would then make the move permanent.
Ian Holloway has signed the inexperienced Dwight Gayle from Peterborough United and Marouane Chamakh from Arsenal but still wants a proven Premier League talisman.
