Crystal Palace are leading the race for Schalke defender Ozan Kabak.

The Turkey international, after a six month loan with Liverpool, is up for sale at Schalke for €9.5m.

Talks this week had been held with Leicester City, but Palace have now stepped up their efforts, reports the Guardian.

With Mamadou Sakho on his way to Montpellier and talks stalling with the off contract Gary Cahill, Palace are eager to find an agreement wth Kabak.

For their part, S04 won't stand in Kabak's way should he reach terms with the Eagles.
