Crystal Palace hero Andy Gray insists England will not regret ignoring Wilfried Zaha.
Zaha starred for the Ivory Coast during the international break.
"He is playing well now but he made his decision before he hit this form so how can it be a missed opportunity?" Gray, who played once for England in 1991, told the Croydon Advertiser.
"He [Zaha] was not good enough for England four months ago.
"England weren't crying out for a player of his stature four months ago because he wasn't good enough, so it's easy to say when somebody's performing 'oh we've missed our opportunity'.
"He had an inconsistent spell but he's shown some consistency since coming back from the African Cup of Nations. Everything's going really well for him at the moment."
