Crystal Palace could delve into French market for quality winter signings says Moody

Crystal Palace sporting director Iain Moody insists the south London club will only be looking to bring in quality in the winter transfer window.

The Eagles are looking to bolster the squad Tony Pulis inherited from Ian Holloway but won't be bringing in players to make up the numbers, rather those who can step straight into the Premier League cauldron.

"I don't think there will be 15 or 16 players coming in during January - that would have a destabilising effect," he told the South London Press.

"It is about fine-tuning, identifying the two or three players you need to try and upgrade."

Moody added that he will be searching the French market for a few possible January signings.

"I speak the language and players over there represent good value," he added.

"With the exception of Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco they don't pay huge money. Culturally and linguistically they are popular to UK clubs. They produce a disproportionate amount of good players."
