Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce says their January signings will prove their value.

Allardyce is confident Crystal Palace's January signings will play an important role in keeping them in the Premier League.

Palace made four signings last month to aid their survival bid but lost their 16th league match of the season yesterday as Joe Allen secured a 1-0 win for Stoke.

"We have four new players and we have to try and introduce them as much as we can," Allardyce said.

"I thought Luka [Milivojevic] looked very comfortable and he is exactly what we need, a holding midfielder who can read the game.

"We have Patrick [van Aanholt] at left-back as well, which we haven't had all season, and Schluppy [Jeffrey Schlupp] who can play there as well.

"We need more defensive stability and hopefully [Mamadou] Sakho, when he is match fit, will make us a bit more solid."
