Andros Townsend will remain at Crystal Palace while his current club and former club Newcastle United negotiate a fee.
The 25-year-old ex-Spurs winger only arrived at Selhurst Park from the Magpies in the summer but is keen to get back to St James' Park before tomorrow night's winter transfer deadline.
According to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie, Palace and Newcastle have been unable to agree an initial £2million loan fee which would be added to the summer release clause of £13m.
