Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has set his sights on making his return from injury against bitter rivals Manchester United on September 12.
The Guardian is reporting Sturridge is expected back at the Merseyside club this weekend, after undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program in the United States, following surgery on his hip in May.
Sturridge spent the majority of his rehabilitation in Boston, where he worked with the Boston Red Sox's medical team, who are also employed by Liverpool's owners, the Fenway Sports Group.
It is understood the England international will be eased in back into training and Liverpool are hopeful the 25-year-old will be ready for Premier League action within three weeks.
