Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle believes the sale of Matt Taylor to West Ham United was good business for the club.
Coyle insists letting the 29-year-old leave made financial sense for everyone involved.
"It is a fantastic fee," the Wanderers manager told the Bolton News. "Matty will feel it's a good deal for him and we feel it's a good deal for the football club.
"He was going into the last year of his contract and West Ham were offering a three or four-year contract.
"I just think when you looked at the business side, £2.2m was a good deal all round."
