Bolton boss Owen Coyle has urged his more senior players to step up otherwise there will be extra chances for the club's youngsters.
The Trotters currently sit third bottom on the league table and with a few older members of the squad at the crossroads of their careers, Coyle has indicated that those with less experience might be thrown into the deep end.
"The experienced players need to be pulling their weight, doing their bit and showing me that they still want to have a career at Bolton Wanderers," Coyle told The Bolton News.
"Our young players are doing fine and they are going to get better.
"If they are good enough, they will play regardless of how old they are, and that, in the long term for Bolton Wanderers, is the way forward.
"Bit by bit I will bring them in, and make us a fresh and energetic team."
