Coyle: Bolton squad too good to go down

Owen Coyle feels his Bolton Wanderers are too good to go down.

Even a victory at Stoke tomorrow, where only four away sides have won all season, might not be enough to beat the drop.

"It's a huge game, a must-win game, but one that we are more than capable of winning," said Coyle. "We've had our backs to the wall all season, but I believe that a win will be enough.

"Given the trials and tribulations we've had, that would be a wonderful achievement.

"You can never judge football because it changes very quickly, but with Manchester City with a chance to win the title in front of their own fans, there won't be many people betting against them.

"If I'd had my full personnel available from the start, we'd be halfway up the league. And in January we lost somebody who will now probably play in the Champions League Final, an outstanding player (Gary Cahill).

"We've shown tremendous spirit. We're seventh in the league in the last 10 games. There's only seven teams in the league that have won more away games than us.

"We're not on a poor run, it's a team that has taken 15 points from the last 10 games.

"They are showing that they can give big performances, and that's what we have to do on Sunday.

"They have to get out there and show they want to be Barclays Premier League players - and they are capable of that."
