Coyle admits Burnley punching well above weight

Burnley boss Owen Coyle admits they're punching well above their weight in this summer's transfer market.

He said: "I did have to smile when the LMA sent out the figures for the budgets from the 2007-08 season. Derby were bottom of the table and still had twice as much to spend as we do. There's no doubt we will have the smallest budget by a country mile.

"People talk about winning promotion in the £60m game, but it's not like that, you don't get that amount the next day. I soon realised what we have to work with.

"But this club doesn't want to put itself into a position like Southampton and Charlton and be over-stretched. We have put into place a plan that will serve us well for years to come."
