Costa Rican pair join Nigerian striker at Columbus Crew training

Columbus Crew has revealed the identities of three trialists currently training with the club.

The Crew had their final reserves match of the season earlier this week and among the roster were Costa Rican pair Esteban Granador (26-year old midfielder) and Walter Chavez (25-year old midfielder) whilst 24-year old Nigerian striker Johnny Owoeri was a late omission.

Crew assistant Ricky Iribarren said it was good to be able to look at new players firsthand to see if they have what it takes to become a part of the Crew squad for the 2012 season.

"It's beneficial to watch them in a more realistic environment and compete with a different team than watching them practice," Iribarren said.

"When you have time, you have to show what kind of player you are and they need to understand it's tough but if they perform in those circumstances that proves that they are a good player."
