Corinthians make offer to Man Utd striker Cavani as he waits for Barcelona

Corinthians are making a move for Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani.

Sport says Barcelona have been working on the signing of Cavani but must decide if they are prepared to sign him on an 18-month deal or drop out of the race after the signing of Ferran Torres.

Cavani has given the green light to Barça, although it now seems he has received a big financial offer from the Brazilian side Corinthians. They want him to lead their Copa Libertadores charge and will keep his Manchester United salary intact.

The Uruguayan striker would prefer to continue in Europe but is waiting on Barça before deciding his next move.

Barça sounded Cavani out on a 1.5-year deal at the same time they were negotiating with Ferran. With a deal for the Manchester City forward closed, plus the imminent returns of Martin Braithwaite and Ansu Fati, the club are debating whether to sign Cavani as well or move for a defender.
