Westfield W-League Round 6

Six rounds have now been completed in the Westfield W-League with Queensland Roar leading the way. The round got underway with a 3-0 win to the Melbourne Victory over Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium.

Selin Kuralay scored a goal either side of half-time and Daniela Digiammarco finished off the Reds in the 64th minute, giving the Victory their third win of the season.

League leaders Queensland Roar also won 3-0 over previously second-placed Sydney FC.

The Roar stamped their authority on the league with a convincing display thanks to goals from Karla Reuter, Alicia Ferguson and Courtney Beutel.

The performance sees the Roar go five points clear of Newcastle Jets on the top of the table.

The Jets managed a 4-2 result over Central Coast Mariners in a goal feast in Campbelltown.

A brace from Emily van Egmond a minute either side of half-time set up the Jets win with Nicole Jones and Joanne Peters also chiming in on the scoreboard.

Renee Rollason and Kyah Simon were the scorers for the Mariners.

In Perth, Canberra United made a miraculous comeback after being two goals down with nine minutes remaining against the Perth Glory.

Elisa D'Ovidio and Lisa De Vanna put the home side in front before Ashleigh Sykes scored twice in the final nine minutes to tie the match.
