West Brom boss Tony Mowbray hasn't completely shot down the prospect of signing Lens striker Aruna Dindane.

"I'm not sure where this came from," Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail. "I've heard about four or five other names we're supposed to be linked with.

"Aruna Dindane has been out for eight months with a cruciate ligament injury. His name would have been mentioned but, categorically, there has been no contact between the football clubs.

"Is it right that we would take him on loan - well let's see what he does over the next few months. No deals have been done for any player. He's a long shot - wild card."
