Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster admitted disappointment missing out on Valencia's David Villa. "I liked his possible recruitment, especially for being Spanish," Schuster told Marca. "We are thinking about that, about bringing in players from Spain.

"Villa did very well in the European Championship and now continues to demonstrate at Valencia he is a man for goals."

On Villa's refusal to join Real, Schuster added: "I cannot say if this had not happened before, but I was a little surprised."
