AC Milan's title hopes were dented after a shock 3-1 loss away to Sicilian outfit Palermo in Sunday night's Serie A fixture. The loss leaves Carlo Ancelotti's side six points adrift of San Siro co-tenants Inter Milan, a situation most would have thought unlikely after the rossoneri were league leaders only two weeks ago.
The contest at Palermo was even at the break, but the home side took only five minutes to open the scoring after the interval with Fabrizio Miccoli's cracking drive from 18 yards finding the back of the net.
Cavani and Simplicio added further goals in the 58th and 80th minutes to extend Palermo's lead before Ronaldinho pulled one back for the visitors with an 83rd minute converted penalty.
