England boss Steve McClaren has dismissed claims from Russia boss Guus Hiddink that his team lacks passion.

"I don't take very much notice of other people's opinions," he said. "At least not those who are not within the squad and don't know.

"It would be a bit like me commenting on other teams. I just refuse to do that. I have enough dealing with my own team.

"But we have to show he is wrong if he has that opinion. That has to be one of the motivations of this England team over the next two games. We have a lot to prove and a lot to do. We have to start doing it."
