Inverness signing McGuire keen on Dunfermline return

He said: "It all happened really late on Friday night and I think it went through about 10 minutes before midnight. I'd spoken to the gaffer at Dunfermline and I wasn't really wanting to move. Although I haven't been playing recently he said I was in his long-term plans.

"But he knew that with me sitting on the bench in the First Division I would have to consider other things, especially the SPL. This way it works out good for all parties. I'm back in the SPL but I'm not away from Dunfermline and I'm happy because we're in the process of speaking about a new contract.

"This means I'm not committing my future to another club for the next two or three years and I've kept my options open for January, whether that's looking at signing elsewhere or agreeing a new deal at Dunfermline."
