Wednesday's reverse was Hearts' fourth consecutive SPL loss and has seen the club drop to 10th in the table.
Goalkeeper Steve Banks told the club website: "I think a few of the senior players thought the players needed to have a meeting with no staff there.
"There were a few things said that have not been said before. People looked deep into their hearts about how they felt and told the truth.
"I think it was needed. Things had to be said and the boys have now got bits and pieces off their chests."
The first meeting was held shortly after the defeat at Tynecastle and another on Thursday morning.
