Derby boss Billy Davies says West Ham face competition for midfielder Giles Barnes.
Davies has confirmed Derby have received improved offers for Barnes - and not only from West Ham.
Derby do not want to sell the 19-year-old and say the bids fall well short of their valuation of the player.
"At the moment they are miles away for us to even consider any move taking place," said Davies, who sees Barnes' future at Pride Park.
"Roll on the end of August and hopefully Giles will be with us for the remainder of this season and beyond because I feel his development must continue at Derby."
