Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has reportedly called a crisis meeting at Old Trafford in an attempt to halt the Red Devils worrying run of form under Louis van Gaal.
United are in the midst of their worst run of results for 17 seasons, without a win in six games for the first time since 1998.
The Daily Mirror is reporting Rooney has taken it upon himself to arrange a players-only meeting in an effort to rally the troops behind van Gaal.
The Dutch manager has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks and could find himself out of a job if United fail to beat Stoke this weekend.
It is understood former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is in line to take over from van Gaal should he face the sack.
