Columbus Crew sign draft selections Sweat, Baiden

Columbus Crew have signed 2014 MLS SuperDraft selections Ben Sweat and Kingsley 'Fifi' Baiden.

The Crew took defender Sweat with pick number 24 while midfielder Baiden went at 42 in the January draft and the pair have now secured pro deals with the Ohio outfit.

"They are both good additions to our roster. We thought highly of both Ben and Fifi at the MLS Combine and we were lucky enough to get them as SuperDraft picks," said Crew head coach Gregg Berhalter.

"I think they're both guys that could potentially contribute as soon as this year."

Sweat is a former star at the University of South Florida during his four-year career while Ghanaian native Baiden, from the University of California Santa Barbara, was the only holding midfielder listed in Top Drawer Soccer's list of top 10 midfielders in the country.
