Columbus Crew signing Federico Higuain is attracted comparisons to former club star Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
The 27-year old Argentine attacker has officially joined the Crew after signing on July 27 and immediately there were talks of former Columbus Designated Player Schelotto who has arguably been the franchise's best player.
Higuain said it was nice to finally call Ohio home and was looking forward to contributing as much as Schelotto did during his time at Crew Stadium which brought about the 2008 MLS Cup.
"We spoke about the city and how nice it is, how quiet it is. It is a family city," Higuain said through a translator.
"It's nice when people compare me to Guillermo, the kind of player he was, but I play different. I hope to have the same success Guillermo had here."
However, the older brother of Real Madrid star Gonzalo is aware that the club is struggling in the bottom half of the Eastern Conference table and knows it may be difficult at the start.
"Of course, it's not an ideal situation to be in, but I will try to do whatever the team needs me to do to carry on from here," he added.
