Collymore: Conte has put an arm around Chelsea stars, Guardiola hasn't at Man City

Stan Collymore has criticised Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola's man-management skills.

Chelsea came out on top during the battle between the two title contenders on Saturday by claiming a brilliant 3-1 victory over City at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte clearly managed to outfox opposite number Guardiola with his tactics during the second half of the game and now pundit Collymore has praised the Italian boss, while at the same time questioned the City manager's ability to get the best out of some of his more seasoned campaigners.

Collymore wrote in his column in the Daily Mirror: "I've long questioned whether Pep Guardiola has a Plan B or not. Now I'm starting to wonder how good a man-manager he is as well.

"Because even though the Manchester City boss is probably a slightly better coach than Antonio Conte or Jurgen Klopp, I can't help but think their management skills could see them pip Pep to the title this season.

"Conte, in particular, came in at Chelsea in the summer and had a good look around the dressing-room. He realised that, in the Premier League, there are 38 hurdles and that he'd need every player at his disposal to help him clear them. He gave Victor Moses a chance and is reaping the rewards.

"And I honestly think he might even have looked at Diego Costa and thought that, in the long run he might be a bit too much trouble, but I'll put an arm round him this season at least because I'm going to need him. Eden Hazard, too.

"Guardiola, on the other hand, didn't do that."
