Former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole is reportedly the subject of interest from Major League Soccer outfit New York City FC.

The Daily Mail is reporting new NYCFC manager Patrick Viera is eager to reunite Cole with his former England and Blues teammate Frank Lampard in the Big Apple.

Cole is available on a free transfer in January after finding himself on the outer at Serie A giants AS Roma.

Manchester United and Aston Villa have also been linked with moves for the 34-year-old.
