Colchester send Bandeira back to Arsenal

Arsenal's young midfielder Mauro Bandeira has returned to the club this week.

The 20-year-old did not enjoy the best of spells with Colchester United in the lower divisions.

With the club in 22nd place in the League Two table, Bandeira was not getting as much game time as expected.

He played 11 games for the U's, with most of that game time coming off the bench.

He will likely be loaned to another team or may even stay as part of Arsenal's reserve side.

A statement from Colchester United said: “Following a good start for the youngster, with eleven appearances in the first couple of months of the season, Bandeira has found it hard to force himself into the first team squad in recent weeks.

“Both clubs decided that it was best for Mauro to cut short the loan and return to North London. Colchester United wish Mauro well in his future football career."
