Clichy: Man City will keep on playing the way we play

Gael Clichy has made it clear that Manchester City will not change anything in the way they are playing.

City suffered their heaviest defeat under Pep Guardiola when losing 4-0 to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, forcing them down to fifth on the Premier League table.

It was a second loss in three league matches for City but left-back Clichy insists that Guardola's playing style will not be sacrificed simply because of a few subpar results.

"It's hard, it's hard. We believe in the first half we created enough chances," he told CityTV.

"People are talking about the penalty (for Raheem Sterling) in the first half. I haven't seen it so I won't say anything about it.

"But perhaps if we scored that first goal in the first half, the game could be different, but that wasn't the case.

"As a team we know we need to do better. We need to attack better, we need to defend better.

"The message today is, as a team, we need to do better rather than thinking about anything else.

"The good thing about football is that in two weeks, everything can change so we want to take a game at a time and see how it goes.

"We have the quality to do it and we have to keep on playing the way we play because that's how we are going to have success.

"But we need to realise that we need to be more compact as a team."
