Clichy: Chat with Mancini convinced me about Man City

Former Arsenal fullback Gael Clichy was convinced about his move to Manchester City by manager Roberto Mancini.

Clichy, who has 10 international caps with France, says City boss Mancini convinced him it was the right move at the right time.

Clichy said: "I believe when you make a decision as big as this you can talk to anyone you want about it.

"But the one man you must talk with is the manager because he is the one in charge of the team, he is the one who is going to pick you.

"You need to make sure the man in charge is the one who really wants you.

"So I spoke to Roberto Mancini twice and David Platt twice and I came away with a good, good feeling.

"I feel this is a great move for me and I'm going to work my hardest to make sure that Manchester City will be good for me.

"At the end of this coming season if I have played in lots of games, done well and won something everyone will say this is a great move for me.

"I'm ready to face up to the test, in fact I can't wait."
