Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has jumped to support Kieran Trippier after their Carabao Cup quarterfinal win against Newcastle United.

Trippier was at fault for Chelsea's late equaliser struck by Mudryk and then failed with his penalty in the shootout.

In the aftermath, Mudryk moved to support the fullback, who has hit a major form slump.

The Ukraine international posted to social media: "Kieran, just wanna say to you, stay strong, sometimes the s*** happens, but I think you are (a) strong footballer no matter what. @ktrippier2."

Chelsea's win sees them reach the semifinal, with Fulham winning at Everton and Middlesbrough at Port Vale. The final place will be decided tonight between Liverpool and West Ham.
