Clark proud of Birmingham role over emergence of West Ham's Morrison

Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is delighted with their role in the emergence of West Ham United midfielder Ravel Morrison.

Clark traces his relationship with Morrison back to last summer.

"The first thing I noticed was his unbelievable talent," Clark told the Daily Mail.

"Of course, we were aware of one or two issues off the field, but it was just his ability which struck me at first.

"We had to work with him and we had to keep working with him, the penny didn't drop straight away. I'll admit there were times when it was hard, when I felt like I was pushing the same message over and over.

"Things like time-keeping weren't great and we had to drill that into him, but he got there. We explained to him, "Ravel, you've got to make sacrifices,' and he bought into that.

"The penny dropped and from about November onwards he was fantastic for us, a pleasure to work with."
