Ciaran Clark hopes things are turning for him at Aston Villa.
Clark lost his place and looked set to be farmed out on loan after slipping down the pecking order at Villa Park.
But injuries to Ron Vlaar, Nathan Baker and Philippe Senderos saw him earn a recall.
Clark said: "Sometimes though when you get your chance you have to make it count. It's been fairly frustrating for me this year. I've been in and out and then in and out again.
"Southampton have had a great start to the season so before the game we would have probably taken a point to be fair."
